Matching Gifts

You can double the total amount of your gift if you work for a business that has a matching gift program. Certain companies allow their employees to direct the firm's corporate donations to benefit the tax-exempt institutions like the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. Companies that have a matching gift program support the employees decision to contribute to a worthy cause by matching it dollar for dollar. Some firms match gifts from their own retirees, corporate officials, and spouses or widows of former employees.

Your company's Human Resources or Personnel department can inform you of the existence of a matching gift program. Each program varies in terms of allowable participation and procedures.
