TALKING SPIRITS CEMETERY TOUR XVIII: SATURDAY CANDLELIT TOURS

Location: Forest Hill Cemetery, 1 Speedway Rd.

The Eighteenth Annual Talking Spirits Cemetery Tour at Forest Hill Cemetery will take place the first week of October.

Join us for the Eighteenth Annual Talking Spirits Cemetery Tour Candlelit tours. On the 90-minute walking tour, local actors portray the contributions of Wisconsin Civil War soldiers and citizens buried at Forest Hill Cemetery. Tours leave every 20 minutes.

Purchasing tickets online will allow you to book preferred time slots of tours. Online ticket purchase will become available in September.

MESS NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE (The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War)

Join us for the Wisconsin Veterans Museum's new quarterly dinner lecture event. Every Mess Night at the Museum will feature a new speaker, topic, dinner, drinks (alcoholic drinks available at a cash bar), and time to socialize before and after the talk. Registration is required. Join us as we transform this historic naval tradition into our own.

In WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE author Doug Bradley places popular music at the heart of the American experience in Vietnam. Join us as he explores how U.S. troops used music as a way of connecting to each other, the world back home, and as a coping tool to deal with the complexities of the war they had been sent to fight.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Join us for an evening of dancing and fun as you step back into the 1940s with the Wisconsin Veterans Museum HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS USO-Style Holiday Dance at the University Club in Madison.

Enjoy this WWII-era experience with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, dance all night to music by Ladies Must Swing Big Band, take beginner swing lessons at 7 PM with JumTown Swing and join Norman Gilliland of WPR as he emcees the night away. Period dress encouraged and awards given to best dressed. Opportunities to sponsor the museum's upcoming World War I exhibit will be available by the Wisconsin Veterans Museum Foundation Giving Tree.

Cost: $50 Student with ID | $60 Members | $80 Non-Members
